There is a famous quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln, which says “If I had 9 hours to chop down a tree, I would spend the first 6 sharpening the axe.”


If you have read my other blogs over the years, you will know that when it comes to weight loss I am not a person for pre-prescribed methods, snake oil and potions. Lots of people have asked me over the years, ”What should I do to lose weight?”.


But my answer is often “We will work out what caused you to gain weight in the first place”.


When I work with a client, we do a thorough analysis that leads us to the factors that are making you struggle with your weight right now. We then break down these factors to understand the behaviours behind them.


If we can say “This is likely why you haven‘t felt like exercising in recent years.” and “This is why your diet isn’t what it could have been in the last 12 months.” then we have shone a light on the reasons that your health and weight are not where they could be or should be right now.


Now that we know that information, then we have a great platform to create lasting change.


I will always work in this way. I have been asked many times since setting up Adfitness Body Mechanic if I would sell lotions, potions and powders that promise near instantaneous weight loss but I cannot do it.


There is no one-size-fits-all solution for weight loss. There are common principles, yes. But understanding your story is key to creating lasting change and a size, shape and lifestyle you will be happy with.

Once you have a clear understanding of where you are, then we can build an effective solution that will get you to your goals.
